Inspection scope
The available checks depend on the model, condition and order. Ask for the scope and results for the quoted units.
Match the chassis model, service identifier, option labels and included accessories. Review front and rear views, bay layout and any visible damage.
Discuss POST status, accessible management interfaces, event logs and installed firmware. A successful power-on check is not a full workload qualification.
Compare the installed processor and DIMM inventory with your BOM. Confirm socket population, DIMM generation, ranks and the required memory arrangement.
Confirm drive identity, controller mode, carriers, cabling and visible health information. Agree on any endurance, media or performance checks you need.
Check the installed adapters, risers, optics and port layout against the intended connections. Confirm software and license requirements separately.
Review fans, heatsinks, PSU model and input requirements. Any load test should specify duration, workload, ambient conditions and pass criteria.
