- Exact platform and BIOS
- Provide the server generation, motherboard revision, installed BIOS and current processor. A matching socket alone does not establish processor support.
- Cooling and power
- Confirm the permitted processor power range, heatsink or liquid-cooling assembly, fan configuration and chassis restrictions for the exact system.
- Single- and multi-socket configurations
- Check the supported processor count and matching rules. A single-socket variant must not be substituted into a dual-socket configuration without explicit platform support.
- Memory and expansion
- Processor capability does not guarantee the server implements every memory speed, memory capacity or PCIe lane. Check the system population and riser requirements.

What the OEM part number identifies.
Can different OEM PNs contain the same processor model?
Yes. The same underlying processor can appear under different system-vendor PNs. Kit contents, server support and supply terms may differ, so the original identities remain separate.
Does listing an OEM PN enable it in every configurator?
No. Only the options and conditions supported for that exact platform belong in its configuration. A catalog entry alone does not approve an installation.
Can I order only the bare CPU?
State this explicitly and confirm the manufacturer model, ordering code and installation hardware you already have. Do not use a bare CPU quotation as evidence that the OEM kit is included.
