Part identification

Keep these details on every line of your request.

Enterprise SSD
Manufacturer model and OEM PN, capacity, interface, form factor, endurance requirements, firmware and any carrier or adapter needed.
Enterprise HDD
Model and PN, capacity, SAS or SATA interface, physical format, sector format, rotation speed and required carrier.
ECC memory
Manufacturer and OEM PN, capacity, DDR generation, RDIMM or LRDIMM type, rank, width and server generation.
E1.S & E3.S
These are different physical formats. Confirm the exact drive, thickness, carrier, server bay and backplane; do not assume that matching the capacity makes a drive interchangeable.
Existing installation
Supply the complete server model and configuration, including controllers, backplanes and any retained parts.
Commercial requirement
State quantity, acceptable condition, target timing, destination and whether mixed lots or equivalent parts can be considered.

Condition & inspection

Define what acceptable stock means for you.

01

Identity and lot consistency

Agree on model, PN, firmware and condition requirements. Ask whether the offer is a matched lot or contains variations that need separate approval.

02

Drive health requirements

Specify the health information and test scope you need, such as available usage counters, error information and media checks. Do not infer remaining life from a photograph.

03

Memory test requirements

Discuss the test platform, population and duration, together with any reported ECC errors. A matching capacity alone does not confirm compatibility.

From loose parts to delivered lots

Keep small components properly identified.

01

Label and separate

Request readable labels and lot identification. Keep different PN, capacities, conditions and firmware variants clearly separated.

02

Protect the hardware

Agree on anti-static handling, connector protection and individual separation appropriate to the shipment.

Offer surplus equipment

If you are selling a lot, prepare an itemized PN list, quantities, condition, photos and location. Pricing follows review of the actual equipment.

Parts questions

Avoid the common mismatches.

Does the same capacity mean the same part?

No. Interface, physical format, firmware, endurance class, memory type and OEM requirements may differ. Use the complete part number and target system.

Are carriers included?

Only when listed in the offer. Confirm the correct carrier, screws, adapters and any cables separately.

Are the stock pictures the actual lot?

The product-family images on this page are illustrations. Ask for current photos and available inspection information for the lot being quoted.

Can you offer alternatives?

Tell the team whether alternatives are acceptable. Each proposed substitution should be identified and checked for the intended platform before approval.
